The building of TU Darmstadt, which was erected as an experimental building, is a listed building. The undulating roof was constructed in a prestressed concrete shell construction.

In the 70 metre long and 25 metre wide hall, reinforced concrete columns supporting the roof stand every 10 metres. The 15 meter high water tower is connected to the hall by the reinforced concrete skeleton construction and the yellow clinker.
